Vickie Lynn

     Ms. Vickie Lynn, age 75, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 in Valley.

     Vickie was born on April 11th, 1947 in Halifax, Virginia to the late Boyd Lee Cates and Dorothy Kelley Cates. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who dedicated her time to her grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments. She graduated from Auburn University in 1974 with a degree in business education, which led her to become a teacher and principal at Valley High School for many years. Her time as an educator led her to become a major influence in the community, and the lives of her students. A breast cancer and stroke survivor, she was a strong role model for her grandchildren. An avid Auburn athletics fan, animal lover, and beach goer, Mrs. Vickie Lynn, or “Pippi” to her grandchildren, will forever remain cherished by her family, friends, and community.

     Vickie is survived by her son, Brad Lynn of Valley, Alabama; grandchildren, Shelby Bramblett, Joshua Bramblett, Holly Lynn, and Susannah Lynn; sister-in-law, Lynn Cates.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Preston Lynn; son and daughter-in-law, Rod and Paula Bramblett; brothers, Timothy Cates and Mike Cates.

     A Celebration of Vickie’s life will be held on Sunday, April 9th, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley.
