Mary Watts George

     Mary Watts George, age 93, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at her residence.

     Mrs. George was born on October 30, 1929 to the late Willie Melton Watts and Ruth King Watts.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Jessie James George, her son Dan George, and several of her siblings.

     She was a member of Jackson Memorial Church in Lafayette, Alabama.

     Mrs. George was a lady of deep faith and loved her Lord and Savior. She used her faith and knowledge to teach Sunday school classes.

     Her hobbies and passions in life included most anything outdoors, fishing, gardening, sewing, and cooking.

     She is survived by her children Marilyn Butler, Bobby George, Elizabeth (Charles) Britt; sister, Joyce Mills; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2:00P.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with entombment in Harmony Memorial Park.  The Reverend Eric Rice officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday beginning at 1:00P.M. EST .
