Joseph "Joey" Yates

     Mr. Joseph “Joey” Yates, age 62, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021 in Phenix City, Alabama. He was born on March 5th, 1959 in Langdale, Alabama to the late Coogie and Lola Yates.

     Joey is survived by his daughters, Jolee Yates and Jenna Yates; wife, Amelia P. Yates; sister, Connie Billingsley; brother, Jimmy (Barbara) Yates; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     Joey was a member of Langdale United Methodist Church. He was an avid Alabama fan. He loved music and to play guitar. He always enjoyed jam sessions with his friends and playing in a band. He was a good father with a huge heart and was loved by all who knew him.

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15th, 2021 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at Langdale United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The Reverend Rusty Letson will officiate. Joey’s family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 pm (EDT) until the service hour at the church.
