Gypsy Lee Poore

     Mrs. Gypsy Lee Poore, age 84, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022 at EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley, Alabama.

     Mrs. Poore was born on September 3rd, 1937 in Chambers County, Alabama. She was of the Baptist faith and was a loving wife, mother, and MawMaw to everyone who knew her. She loved her holidays, family gatherings, and cooking big meals for all. She will be so missed. Please keep her in your prayers as she did everyone known and unknown to her.

     Mrs. Poore was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James D. Poore; sons, David Poore and James M. Poore, grandchild, Miles Sheppard.

     She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Luke; son, Billy Poore (Shirley); grandchildren, Dusty Luke, Kelly Luke, Chris Poore (Erin), Nikki Poore, Kasey Poore, Brent Sheppard (Corvelyn) Amber Sheppard, Misty Poore, Amy Poore, and Angel-Ann Poore; twenty-two great grandchildren; four beloved great-great grandchildren. ; brother, Gary West (Elva); many nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at 3:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Poore’s family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM (EDT) until the service hour at the funeral home.
