Betty Louise McConnell

     Mrs. Betty Louise McConnell passed away Friday, February 26th, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center. Mrs. Betty was born in Langdale on January 24th, 1949 to the late Mr. Raymond Murphy and Mrs. Annie Lee Templeton. She met the love of her life, Robert McConnell as a young girl and the two were wed July 3rd, 1966. Their union produced two children, Anessa and Shane.

     Mrs. Betty was the representation of all that is good in this world. She loved her family, friends, and church family without condition. She loved her God even more. She was never seen without a smile and always had encouraging words. To know Mrs. betty was to know love. She will be missed tremendously, but we are comforted by knowing she is finally home.

     Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim Murphy. She is survived by the love of her life, Robert McConnell; her children, Anessa McConnell and Shane (Patti) McConnell; her grandchildren, Chase (Katie) McConnell, Myles (Ashley) McCarley, Holly McCarley, Kristyn McCarley, Harlee McConnell, and Pyper McConnell; her great grandchildren, Creed Dembo, Alexis Smith, Cayden McCarley, Beau McConnell, Kennisyn McCarley, and soon to be Murphy McConnell; her brother, Ray Murphy.

     Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 28th, 2021 at 4:00 PM (EST) at Pine Grove Church in Opelika, Alabama. Interment will follow in Shady Grove cemetery. Pastor Ricky Thomaston will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the church.
