Barbara Ann Smith

     Mrs. Barbara Ann Smith, age 84, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, May 11th, 2022 in Valley, Alabama. She was born on July 20th, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Henry Alton and Tennie Bee Wood.

     Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Anita (Earl) Cofield; sisters, Kay (Doug) Metcalfe and Mary Lou (Jerry) Owens; grandson, David (Courtney) Cofield; granddaughter, Kimberly Cofield; great grandchildren, Starr (Lavonne)Binnix, Alyssa Nelson, and Bryce Nelson; great-great grandchild, Ava Binnix.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, George A. Smith; son, George Michael Smith; great grandchild, Bradyn Michael Nelson; brother, Clyde Wood; sister, Doris Howard.

     Mrs. Smith was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She loved to read and was an absolute sweetheart who had a great sense of humor. She loved her family and never missed a birthday or event. She was always smiling and was loved by all.

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13th, 2022 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Pastor Milford McClain will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Park Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Smith’s family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM (EDT) until the service hour at the funeral home.
