Mr. Thomas Richard Royster, age 70, of Valley, AL went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018. He was born on January 10th, 1948 in LaFayette, AL to the late Edward and Irene Royster.

Mr. Royster is survived by his wife, Gail Royster; his three daughters, Dana (Wayne) Oliver, Karen (Troy) Gresham, and Cindy Logan; his four granddaughters, Kasi (Hunter) Newton, Kimberly (Cody) Watson, Amanda (Chris) Woodson, and Amber Logan; his grandson, Jeremy Conaway; his six great-grandchildren, Tanner Newton, Turner Reece Newton, Jackson Conaway, Christian Woodson, Mason Woodson, and Hudson Woodson; his brother, Roy (Barbara) Royster; and his sister, Jean Marler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Billy Wayne Royster.

Mr. Royster was a strong Christian man and an active member of Faith Temple Family Worship Center in Lanett, AL. He was a United States Airforce Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was later stationed in Japan. He loved his family very much. He enjoyed working in his garden, mowing the grass, and being outdoors. He was a selfless man that would do anything for anyone. He had the toughest hands to build anything, yet could give the warmest hugs. He worked at Uniroyal for 24 years and went on to be a truck driver, where he found his passion. He never met a stranger and could make anyone feel loved. He left life lessons with so many, and could always give you a different outlook on life. His family and friends think he’s an incredible man and are very blessed to have had him in their lives.

A Celebration of Mr. Royster’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at 11:00 AM (EDT) at the Faith Temple Family Worship Center in Lanett, AL with the Reverend Joe Schuck officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Compassus Hospice, Faith Temple Family Worship Center, or EAMC Cancer Center in his memory.
