Mrs. Glenda Birchfield Pitts

Mrs. Glenda Birchfield Pitts, age 74, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, July 16^th, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Pitts was born in Langdale, Alabama on January 25^th, 1945 to the late Loomis Birchfield and Rudell Ward Pitts.

Mrs. Pitts worked for and retired from the Chambers County Board of Education after 25 years of service.  She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

She was a family oriented lady who loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.  She was affectionately known to most everyone in the neighborhood as “Mama G”.  She was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of her cats.

She is survived by her husband, James J. Pitts, Sr.; son, J.J. Pitts; daughter, Dee Dee (Jody) Colley; sister, Peggy (James) Mason; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at the Fairview Baptist Church on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 2:00P.M. EDT.  The Reverend Tim Bass officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00P.M. EDT until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to the benefit of the Fairview Baptist Church.
