September 18 1921 - August 13, 2019

Carolyn D. Hill peacefully went to her Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Lanett, AL. She was born in LaGrange, GA to Edmund T. Daniel and Wilma H. Daniel. She was married to her husband Thomas (Buck) R. Hill for 50 years before he passed in 1991 and lived in West Point, GA. She was a busy homemaker famous for her artichoke relish, blackberry jelly, chocolate chip cookies and Black Bottom pie.

She also was well known for her cross stitch Christmas stockings, raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, and Christmas ornaments. She was an avid bridge player and taught her children and grandchildren how to play. She was a faithful and active member of the West Point First Baptist Church.

She was a devoted and caring mother of 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who will all miss her.

She is survived by her children, Joe H. Hill (Karen) of West Point, GA, Lyda Meadors of West Point, GA and Betty Burton of Portland, OR. Also by her grandchildren Carson Hill of Athens, GA, Michael Hill (Meghan) of Newnan, GA, Thomas Hill (Ashlee) of West Point, GA, Katharine Jeffcoat

(Eric) of Portland, OR,  and Dr. Jay Burton (Maura) of Denver, CO. Her great grandchildren are Mauve Jeffcoat, Reece Jeffcoat, Tanner Hill, Tristan Hill, Thomas Hill Jr., and Olivia Burton. Her brother John Daniel (Dorothy) and sister Dorothy Wallace also survive her along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at the Marseilles cemetery in West Point on Saturday, Aug 17th at 11:00 am with the Rev. Mark McGee and Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Visitation will be at Johnson Brown Service Funeral Home in Lanett, AL on Friday, Aug 16th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Mrs. Hill's name to a charity of your choice.
