Obituary for Mr. Steve Stewart

 

 

Mr. Steve Stewart, age 61, of Lanett passed away on Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Stewart was born at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina on March 11th, 1957 to Betty Torrance Stewart and the late Roy Gherson Stewart.   He was also preceded in death by a sister, Deanna Bleier.

Mr. Stewart attended Southern Union State Community College earning an Associate Degree in electrical engineering.  He went on to work for the West Point Foundry, where he traveled the world working for the foundry. He also worked for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Columbus, Georgia as an electrical engineer.

Steve enjoyed water skiing, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman.  Steve read his Bible every day and was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his son, Stephen J. Stewart, Jr.; mother, Betty L. Stewart; siblings, Deborah Stewart, Roy G. Stewart, Jr., Ralph A. Stewart, Nicole S. Royal, Tiffany A. Chambers; 5 grandchildren; furbabies, “Baby Girl” and “Buddy”.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 18th, 2019 at 12:30P.M. EST at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett.  The Reverend Mark McCarty officiating.  The family will visit with friends after the graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery.
