Mr. David Lewis Dickens

Mr. David Lewis Dickens, age 57, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, January 8^th, 2019 at his mother’s residence.

David was born on March 24^th, 1961.  He was preceded in death by his father, Professor Roy Selman Dickens, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Walter and Florrie Williams McClendon of LaGrange, GA; paternal grandparents, Roy Selman Dickens, Sr. and Edith Metcalf Dickens of Atlanta, GA. 

David and his parents lived in Atlanta, GA., and Chapel Hill, NC, where his father was a professor at Georgia State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

David was a people person and a friend to everyone he met.  He always enjoyed his jobs and worked for Timeless Antiques and at different pawn shops. 

He attended Langdale United Methodist Church.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church (Webb Rd) in West Point at 11 AM EST Wednesday January 16, 2019. 

David is survived by his mother, Carol McClendon Dickens; aunts, Donna Dickens Cutbirth, Jean McClendon Renshaw; aunt-in-kind, Sandra Ann Smith; and his cousins.
