Dorothy "Dot" Gooden Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Gooden, age 86 of Valley, AL passed away on Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at her residence. She was born on October 11th, 1932 in Harris County, GA to the late Willie Aubrey Myers and Essie Hale Myers.

Mrs. Gooden is survived by her five siblings, Sonny Ray Myers, Marlon “Buck” Myers, Hermon (Cheryl) Myers, Shirley Turner, and Margie (Allan) Carson; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gooden; and her sister, Roxie Adamson. Mrs. Gooden was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church in Lanett, AL for over 50 years. She liked to visit with people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching cooking shows, westerns, and cartoons. She loved everyone, especially children who she could color with.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 at 3:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Pastor Steve Langley will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM (EDT) until the service hour at the funeral home.
